“Everything can be taken from a man or a woman but one thing: the last of human freedoms to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” ~ Viktor Frankl
“Don’t place your mistakes on your head, their weight may crush you. Instead, place them under your feet and use them as a platform to view your horizons.” ~ Author Unknown
I saw this posted in an investment group and thought it worth sharing:
HIGH EXPENSE FUND:
If a mutual fund charges 1.2% & returns 8%/year < expenses
- in 10 years expenses eat 25.7% of your return on investment (ROI)...
- in 25 years, 36.4% gone of your ROI.
LOW EXPENSE FUND:
If your fund charges 0.6%, 8% ROI/year < expenses
- in 10 yrs. Expenses consume 10.3% of your profit.
- 25 yrs., 16.3% of your ROI.
- charges 0.05%, 8% ROI as above consumes only 0.9% ROI & 1.5% in 25 years.
That's compounding. It's invisible, but avoid this and have more later in life. I stay index long term.

Very important to keep your costs low!
A good article comparing Net Worth Thinkers to Income Thinkers.
“Interdependence is a fundamental law of nature. Even tiny insects survive by cooperating with each other. Our own survival is so dependent on the help of others that a need for love lies at the very core of our existence. This is why we need to cultivate a genuine sense of responsibility and a sincere concern for the welfare of others.” ~ Dalai Lam
“I am a dreamer who dreams, sees visions, and listens always to the still, small voice. I am the trail blazer.” ~ George Washington Carve
The S&P has been in a sideway chop zone for over 2 weeks now (see chart below). We'll need a breakout of this zone in either direction to see what the next trend will be. 3 of my 5 investments hit new highs this week so all looks good on that front.
“Worrying is like sitting in a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but it doesn’t get you anywhere.” ~ Author Unknown
“Confidence comes not from always being right, but from not fearing to be wrong.” ~ Peter T. Mcintyr
A good article explaining the myths of being frugal. I like myth #2 comparing being frugal to being cheap.
