“Happiness does not depend on outward things, but on the way we see them.” ~ Leo Tolstoy
S&P +13.07, DOW +11.15, Nasdaq +16.49.
My portfolio +7.38% with a 40% stock/ 55% bond/ 5% cash allocation. Doing a 34 year backtest on my portfolio, it shows I would have had a -15.89% drawdown in a month with the best year of +13.98% and worst year of -7.89%. Since capital preservation is important to me in retirement, I need to decrease my stock exposure just a little this year, and up my bond exposure a little to get the drawdown a little bit less.
The S&P closes out the 1st Quarter of 2019 up +13.07%! After chopping sideways for just over the past 2 weeks, it closed yesterday above the 2820 resistance level (see chart below). Lets see if that level can hold as support next week.
