Thought for the day, plus some posts of interest!
“Over and over again, we lose site of what is important and what isn’t. We crave things over which we have no control, and not satisfied by the things within our control. We need to regularly stop and take stock; to sit down and determine within ourselves which things are worth valuing and which things are not.” ~ Epictetus
As July comes to a close, I'm very happy with the results of my investment portfolio (see image below)! I'm also happy with the dividend income they are throwing off. I noticed the two funds that also pay out capital gains (Dividend Growth and Wellington) aren't paying as much this year so far in income compared to last, which means less trading in the fund. This is a great time to be investing!
Nothing but sideways chop! The S&P has been in a sideways trading range for 12 days now (see chart below). It is looking like we could break out to the upside, but who knows. This is a bad time to do any swing trading without market direction. I'm currently in TLT since the 22nd, which has been slowly pushing upward.
“Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.” ~ Pope John XXIII
Let the games begin. I’m sure there will be lots of mud-slinging, lies, and heated debates before the 2016 Election in November! I feel this is a very important election and will not be just about Republican vs. Democrat! It will be about Capitalism vs. Socialism, Nationalism vs. Globalism, pro-Constitution vs. anti-Constitution, and Liberty vs. Tyranny! We need to make America great again! Vote Trump and stop the Socialist Democrats from destroying our Republic!!!
“The most practical kind of politics is the politics of decency.” ~ Theodore Roosevelt
“Live in such a way that if someone spoke badly of you, no one would believe it.” ~ Author Unknown
“Please believe that one single positive dream is more important than a thousand negative realities.” ~ Adeline Yen Mah
“I will not follow where the path may lead, but I will go where there is no path, and I will leave a trail.” ~ Muriel Strode
