Thought for the day, plus some posts of interest!
I'm going to take advantage of this pullback to change what I trade. I'm going to concentrate on just trading ETFs! I apologize to anybody that looks for my stock watch list, but please understand that I'm just trying to make my trading an easier endeavor.
A watch list for stocks takes a lot of work by having a weekly potential list of stocks to watch, running a scanner all day and flipping charts to add symbols to that list, then going over 20-50 or more stocks at the end of the day to get a watch list of 10 for the next day.
With trading ETFs, I have a set list of 35 diversified ETFs I created covering different sectors, industries, and indexes (XME, GDX, XOP, XLU, XLP, XLE, XLF, XLV, XHB, XLI, XLB, XRT, XLK, XLY, KRE, MOO, SMH, IBB, IYR, IYZ, IYT, FDN, TAN, AMLP, VWO, VEA, VTI, SPY, DIA, QQQ, IWM, IJR, VTV, VUG). Plus there are 5 different type of bond funds (PFF, HYG, HYD, PCI, TLT). Also 5 (1x) inverse index ETFs (TBF, SH, DOG, PSQ, RWM). With that list, I just have to go over it at the end of day to get a watch list for the next day, and I'm done my research. If you want my list of ETFs on a spreadsheet, click here.
